A Winter wedding at Moddershall Oaks

A stunning winter wedding at Moddershall Oaks with Katie & Nick

This was my first wedding of 2023 and it was a really amazing start to the year. Moddershall Oaks is a lovely venue, and so local to me, I’m based in Uttoxeter. It was great to return here again to photograph another wedding.

Katie and Nick wanted an intimate wedding near where they live, and a winter wedding in February too. This made for a great atmosphere, and the cold and wintery conditions really helped the photography!

Because the light fades so early in winter, there was an opportunity to do some atmospheric and striking portraits using off camera lighting, which doesn’t normally happen during the summer months. So, it’s good to roll with the seasons and create strikingly different results at different times of the year.

What is Moddershall Oaks like as a wedding venue?

Moddershall Oaks is a stunning wedding venue and health spa near Stone in Staffordshire. There’s loads of amazing spots for portraits; woodlands areas, a small lake to walk around and a jetty. The ceremony room is flooded with natural light and looks incredible and bright and airy.

The staff are really amazing here too, and they work really well with the bride and groom and also me personally as a photographer. Their wedding co-ordinator Mason was incredibly helpful on the day and helped me to guide the wedding guests outside so I could do a whole group shot of everyone from one of the balconies.

Relaxed and stress-free wedding photography guaranteed

Katie and Nick were so up for some relaxed portraits, they made it really easy and fun to walk around the grounds of Moddershall Oaks and capture some stunning portraits.

I try and make portraits relaxed and fun, no stress guaranteed. During your wedding day I take natural photos of the key moments of the day and your guests enjoying your big day.
